Practice and professional experience

Peter advises national and international clients with regards to patent application prosecution and validity proceedings as well as regarding the enforcement of IP-rights in litigation proceedings. His technical focus lies in the field of mechanical engineering. He counsels clients with regards to IP-related contracts and in developing effective IP strategies. After graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering at the Technical University Clausthal he continued as technical researcher with fellowship at the Jet Propulsion Institute at the University of the German Armed Forces in Munich, Faculty for Air and Space Technology, dissertation on the topic of jet propulsion. He was patent counsel at Akzo AG, Wuppertal, did simultaneously training with a patent attorney, training at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court and at the State Court of Düsseldorf, thereafter senior patent counsel at the Patent Department of Akzo AG, Wuppertal, and Akzo N.V., Arnheim, vice president of Akzo Patente GmbH, Wuppertal. Peter is instructor in intellectual property rights at the Furtwangen University and Albstadt-Sigmaringen University.
